Westlake Ace Hardware of Kansas City bought out Clark's Hardware Store from the 7th generation owner (Margaret Clark) in April 2024. It started in 1845 as Clarks Farm Supplies on Maryland Avenue across from the railroad station by John L. Clark.
3720 Maryland Avenue now a very large Antique Depot
In 1974 Clarks Hardware moved from original site to St. John's Plaza.
The current building was built at 10325 Baltimore National Pike (Rt 40) in the early 1990's. Early in the Covid lockdown, Clarks was terrific getting recomended items and placing them nearest the entryway. Recently they found Eclipse sunglasses (which worked) and always have many interesting items - like clever greating cards - in addition to all things hardware. And plenty of staff to help.
Columbia Store, opened Sept 2022 just off Snowdon River and Dobbin at 8895 McGaw Road, Columbia
